We use the straight grain of Nikko cedar, and carefully select ingredients centered around the rare red and black core parts.
Each piece is carefully handcrafted by skilled woodworkers in Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture, an area surrounded by particularly high-quality Nikko cedar.
In order to make the most of the unique parallel slack grain of the wood, the front is simple and the back has been shaved down on all four sides to make it easy to hold.
In addition, the surface is coated with a smooth, pleasant-to-the-touch paint that is resistant to scratches and moisture and does not reflect light.
The shadow cast on the rim makes the cedar tray appear to be floating, and the dishes and food placed on it create a comfortable sense of tension that not only enhances the space, but also straightens your mind and spine.
